Battlefield 2 Bunny Hopping
Some people swear by it, others hate it. Personally, I'll do whatever I can to avoid enemy fire. But, the one thing I don't do at all, is try to fire back while bunny hopping. I think that is the crucial point. So many people hop around like idiots while continueing to fire at you. This is the main point people are upset about. First of all, lets not even begin to discuss how, with full battle gear and carrying all those weapons, a person can jump 5 feet high. I know the game is not meant to be a super realistic simulation. But, why does the person's accuracy not seem to go out of whack while jumping madly around you? I always seem to get killed by these bunny-hopping idiots. I consider this the same as an exploit much like those stat whores we all know and love. Personally, I still love the game and am able to deal with these weenies. I just wanted to see if I could get a discussion going. What does everyone else think?

I hate it, it should be fixed. Yea it's not 100% realistic, the guns take that into account since you can unload 30 rounds with a machine gun at 20 yards in a prone position and only hit them once (which is all it would take realistically)
But yes give us a break. If I wanted to jump around and shoot I'd play Contra.
In MY opinion I think they should change a couple things. Don't allow people to jump with no stamina. It takes stamina away to jump, but if you have no stamina you can still jump?
Make it impossible to shoot while jumping .
Make the stamina bar have a bigger red zone, and if your character gets into this red zone they are exhausted and cannot move for the half second/second untill the bar refills.
Make the characters only jump 2 feet, but if they come to something 5 feet high they can jump and scramble over it with a quick animation.
I thought this game looked pretty sweet untill I found out it's an arcade game and not a war game like it was marketted. So many things about it don't sit well with me. Like the all seeing eye of the commander. He should be forced to zoom in to sat view and then point people out. Not whisk some magical spell that shows everyone on the map. Just my two cents ...

Ok kevin im taking spelling and grammar classes as we speak thnx for the advice. But anyways i "bunny hop" in bf all the time and i hear people like you wine about it nonstop because you get your asses kicked. Heres the thing anyone can fricking do it what are you saying that i should stand there and make it easier for you to shoot me when i know how to evade you while kicking ur ass at the same time...? No thanks man, this way i can wipe you and your newbie squad members all by myself because you have moral problems about bunny hopping.

A simple answer old champ because when you're walking or crouching i jump over you while aiming the gun at you at point blank range silly no loss of accuracy there the bullets dont miss because the guns less than a meter away from your face. If it was possible to jump around like that in real life and any gun was aimed at you im pretty sure the bullets go faster than a human fatass coming down with gravity.
Basically you guys dont probably even play battlefield 2 as much as me and other people that kick your ass because you either have real jobs or you just have a social life. And then the 2 days outa the week that you do decide to play you get your asses kicked by people like me and then wine about it.
Look guys i got nothing against you but just the fact that you want to change the way the game is played because you dont think its legit to bouce around and shoot at the same time is rediculous. Ive played this game the way its been since the Demo and now i hear people like you wining about crap like this and wanting to change the game. If you dont like the game dont play it im serious play ghost recon or rainbow 6 im sure you cant jump and shoot at the same time in those games. Or ask EA to make a sanbox server for nubs and you can all play happily ever after. Dont ruin it for so called "statwhores" like us. I have fun playing the game i dont care about points but when you people just wine on the server it pisses me off.

Thanks for the thorough, yet hard to read, reply. If you read my post carefully, I never suggested we should change the game. I don't believe the game should be changed. I was merely trying to provoke a discussion, which it seems I did, with you. I'm in no way a noob, but I'm also not an expert as I do have a life and a job. I was just pointing out one of the major things people are complaining about in the forums.

anonymous, you are the example IDIOT everyone is talking about when they refer to the problem with bunny hopping. Of course you are going to defend it like the dumbass you are. Bunny hoppers where not welcome in CS and they are not welcome in BF. It wont be long before your uber-play style is nerfed. And then we will hear your type cry "wheeeee wheeeeee, my stats are below a one 1.0 average now because they nerfed bunny hopping!, wheeeeeeee wheeeeee"

HAHA. Go play ghost recon so you dont have to worry about "Bunny Hoppers" like me. I dont give a shit if you like it or not or what you think about it. I will continue to use this way on people like you and the more you wine the more im gonna specifically aim at you. Ill keep hopping around untill they do change it and when they do probably wont change the fact you get your ass kicked all the time. And yea ur right EA will probably nerf the game to shit because theres a million noobs like you that wine about everything nomatter what the game. They already screwed the ranking system so people like you can get all the gun unlocks without doing anything... If you really hate "bunny hopping" so much go on the sandbox clan servers where bunny hopping isnt allowed and you can play with the rest of you friends and talk about how they need to replace the guns with flowers and make the planes drop candy instead of bombs.

EA will always listen to people like you that dont know how to play or wipe their own asses and not care about the people that actually play the game for long periods of time. Because theres simply more of people like you and its all about money and making newbs happy so dont worry just hang in there and if you keep being a little girl and wining enough youll get what you want.
But dont expect not to get you ass kicked still after the next nerf patch.

You sound VERY SCARED. As you should be, due to the fact your only weapon is, THE BUNNY. Once that's gone your nothing.
You and others with your feelings are exactly the people that go out buy a game, but will only play once they find cheat codes or a list of glitches. None of your game play is based on your own ability, as you have none. Not without a cheat or glitch.
I agree that the game writers are a little to blame for your sort. But that will change in time.
As for now the majority must just tolerate those like you that are too LAME to know there LAME.

I too find bunny hoping annoying. Sometimes I do a couple of jumps when I cross a big open field as a precaution against snipers but that slows my running down , so I can't overdo it , EA got that right. I think this is legitimate too because in real life soldiers should be able to move a little erraticaly to make sniper aim a bit harder. In game , speed is so constant , it's almost too easy for snipers.
But close combat continuously jumping is completely nonsense. I agree with the post above that jumping should
1)use more stamina
2)be unavailable when stamina is not enough

Well lads I play for fun and have a life, as far as bunny hopping goes thats the way the game works, and remember it's a game for 16 yrs +.
The things I hate is cheats i.e glitiching/wallhacks/aimbots and all that stuff, as far as bunny hopping is I do get distress about it.
If a server does not permit B/H then just be respectful and follow the rules troopers, for me I play on all as I just play for fun but,
I follow the servers rules so have fun and remember it's not real lads happy sailing and take care all.

What everyone who cries "nerf bunny hopping" must remain aware of is the fact the EA could have "nerfed" said issue a long time ago. Why haven't they if they feel it is an abuse of game mechanics? I would suggest that they feel bunny hopping is a legit means to play certain classes. Until they announce that bunny hopping is an issue and will be removed this entire argument is a mute point.

Lame ass tactic, just played the game after 1.5 year break, now I know why I gave it up. The bunny hopping and dolphine diving is lame. Yeah I can jump, dive and roll and get off a shot, EA made this POS game into an arcade game, not a war game. I was hoping to find a modded server that removed the lame crap, but still haven't found it.

After getting fairly deep into coop play on ravenshield R6 (in which u cant jump)I thought i'd take a gander at BF2. I am most definately a noob, without a shadow of a doubt BUT...that does not bother me in the slightest. Shame they couldnt just code BF2 so that u cant jump. Of course u can jump in RL but its not generally considered a prudent manouver in a firefight. I guess i'm just saying I think the game would be alot deeper if people were not able to bunny hop. It seems it can be a great representation of modern warfare but when u see some guy come round the corner prone, at head height and firing it kind of gets thrown back to the days of unreal tournament. I think it would be better if the players with better tactics and use of cover had the edge rather than the runners and gunners. Sure people are going to do everything in their power to stay alive but....it's just a bit cheap.
