Half-life 2 reviews
I'm really trying to avoid going out and buying this game. The last game I bought was Tony Hawk's Underground 2 with a gamepad for my PC. It's a pretty cool game, but I actually haven't played it now for a couple weeks after my trip down memory lane playing some classic computer games I grew up with. I don't want to make the same mistake with Half-life 2.
Like everyone else, I got pretty excited about the prospects of this game when the press releases first started coming out. The sample videos from E3 presentations were pretty impressive, but do I continue my streak of starting a new game just to never finish it? I never actually finished the first Half-life game. I got to the point where you are transported to that other dimension and I gave up. It pretty much lost me there. I like more realistic games. I did the same thing with the disaster of a game, Doom 3. I hated it. Was just all eye candy.
Being a true geek though, the physics of Half-life 2 look very intruiging and that might evenutally win me over to go out and pick it up. I'll check out a number of reviews first to see what people are saying, but I know I should believe them because everyong gave Doom 3 good reviews and it had no depth and a poor story. On a side note about realistic games, I really wanted to buy that game Farcry that came out a while back, but after reading about how you end up fighting some enraged creatures rather than humans, I canned that idea.
Anyway, check out some reviews of Half-life 2 here for those who are interested. Eventually, I may begin writing up my own reviews of the games I play if anyone shows some interest in my views/rants.

You won't be disappointed. I had extraordinarly high expectations for the game, and it lived up to them all.
